Overview

Under general oversight, this role is tasked with managing contract documentation from the initial estimate through to project initiation, employing standardized techniques related to procurement, processing, comprehension, and documentation of information to ensure Granite remains a competitive bidder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist estimating personnel with bid preparation and project initiation by leveraging a comprehensive understanding of terminology, processes, and practices to fulfill requirements.
  • Facilitate the inclusion of MBE/WBE/DBE/UDBE to guarantee diverse representation of subcontractors in all bid submissions.
  • Maintain the bid list and bid packets to ensure timely and precise bid submissions.
  • Establish processing and documentation protocols to meet good faith efforts and project advertising standards.
  • Handle bid documents from agencies/owners for the business unit to ensure accurate bid submissions.
  • Compile bid packets, monitor documents, and draft correspondence to ensure all necessary documentation and communication is precise and timely.
  • Perform various administrative and office support tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent professional experience.
Experience
  • 2-5 years in the construction sector with a fundamental understanding of the bidding process and public agency regulations.
Skills and Competencies
  • Notary Public certification preferred.
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Experience with JD Edwards is advantageous.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Capability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, phone, and grammar skills.
  • Willingness to undertake additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. While executing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly. The employee frequently must stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee may occasionally need to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Benefits may differ for positions located outside the continental United States.

Salary Range:
$62,000 - $94,243.00
Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
