Job Details:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including month-end and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports or statements.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits.
  • Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Meet financial accounting objectives.
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
  • Participate in strategic planning, fraud prevention, and budget development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification would be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager.
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to direct and supervise.
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic planning and risk management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
