About the Role

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Crisis Services Clinician II to join our team. As a key member of our crisis services team, you will be responsible for providing clinical assessment, behavioral health treatment, and intervention to children, adolescents, and their families who are experiencing a psychiatric/behavioral health crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and document client presenting problems, history, symptomology, mental status, diagnosis, and prescribe initial interventions in a timely manner.
  • Assess risk for lethality and engage in thorough safety planning.
  • Recommend disposition for level of care, utilizing case consultation and staffing as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with client/family to assist in developing specific, realistic, and measurable treatment goals and objectives for treatment.
  • Employ strategies of intervention that are consistent with empirically supported treatments and consistent with program expectations.
  • Remain current in research and knowledge of competencies of the treatment of behavioral health crisis and assessment of lethality risk.
  • Complete clinical charting and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with policy standards.
  • Practice within professional areas of expertise.
  • Support staff development of non-independently licensed clinicians.
  • Maintain productivity expectations and promote patient access to care.
  • Effectively coordinate client care with other service providers and community resources to assure continuity of care.
Requirements
  • Masters or doctoral degree from an accredited university or professional school of Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Appropriate Ohio licensure, required. Must remain current in required licensure and clinical or other training as required.
  • Independent license, preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities in providing and managing behavioral healthcare to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, peers, and community representatives.
