Position Overview:

The Sales Territory Representative plays a crucial role in nurturing customer relationships within a collaborative sales framework. This position involves managing delivery schedules and addressing any issues that arise during the order fulfillment process.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance customer engagement through a team-oriented sales approach.
  • Oversee delivery operations in accordance with established routing schedules, resolving any discrepancies such as delivery errors or inventory shortages.
  • Facilitate communication regarding accounts receivable, collaborating with the credit department and clients to ensure timely payment of outstanding balances.
  • Utilize various resources to identify and capitalize on high-potential business opportunities and new account openings.
  • Conduct market research to discover prospective clients, leveraging business intelligence tools, directories, and networking opportunities.
  • Stay informed about market trends, product advancements, and competitor offerings, sharing valuable insights with customers.
  • Travel to client locations to ensure product delivery, which may involve lifting and transporting items weighing up to 75 lbs.

Supervision:

This role does not include direct reports.


Relationships:

Internal: Collaborate with District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact.

External: Engage with customers, vendors, and potential clients.


Work Environment:

This position requires frequent outdoor activity, engaging with customers in varying weather conditions.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Preferred experience of 1+ years in sales.
  • Background in foodservice, culinary arts, restaurant management, or hospitality is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to foster relationships and initiate cold calls to generate new business.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a competitive spirit.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Team-oriented approach to collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with Customer Relationship Management tools, such as Salesforce.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.


Licenses:

A valid driver's license is required, and the motor vehicle record must be in good standing.
