The Loan Operations Specialist will undertake a range of loan servicing tasks related to real estate financing, which includes the preparation of payoff requests, oversight, monitoring, and evaluation of all ongoing loans, transfer of servicing to investors, and ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.
Kansas City Title primarily operates in the real estate sector. This position allows for remote work, or if the candidate is located near the office, the role can be based out of that local office with the option for flexible work-from-home arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the collection of monthly mortgage and interest payments, manage daily deposit operations, and collaborate with the accounting team to process checks and wire transfers as necessary.
- Facilitate the activation and payment of private mortgage insurance within the loan management system.
- Address customer inquiries regarding interest payments, payoffs, and other related questions.
- Investigate and resolve complex issues, including accounting inquiries, customer complaints, processing errors, write-offs, and requests from investors.
- Draft and send welcome letters and prepare communications for clients and other third parties.
- Assist in managing the portfolio of non-performing loans.
- Record loan transactions, including principal payments, advances, reversals, and adjustments.
- Conduct loan servicing research as requested by lending staff or supervisors.
- Develop and maintain reports for periodic and ad hoc management needs, tracking key performance metrics.
- Provide payment histories to investors or servicers upon request.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Meet all performance and conduct expectations as outlined in the company performance evaluation criteria or communicated by management.
- Execute responsibilities as directed, achieving desired outcomes within established timelines and maintaining a high standard of quality and professionalism.
- Foster and maintain positive and productive working relationships with all staff, clients, and business partners.
- Exhibit the behavioral and technical competencies necessary to effectively fulfill job responsibilities, taking personal initiative for professional development.
- Adhere to company HR policies, the Code of Business Conduct, and all subsidiary and departmental policies and procedures, including safeguarding confidential company information and following safety practices in all activities.
Education:
- Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution.
- At least one year of experience in customer service within a financial institution or a comparable professional environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Familiarity with mortgage servicing software.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to consistently produce accurate work efficiently.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks, remain adaptable, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment with high volume.
- Solid commitment to customer service excellence.
