Position Overview

We are seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to oversee our Flight Department. This role is critical in managing engineering functions and ensuring the successful execution of projects within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and determine staffing requirements, collaborating with team leads to fulfill these needs.
  • Support recruitment initiatives, including requisition creation, interview conduction, and offer approvals.
  • Work alongside program leaders to set personal, program, and functional objectives, as well as conduct performance evaluations and merit adjustments.
  • Provide mentorship and career development guidance to team members, addressing disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Ensure the acquisition of necessary tools and equipment for team members to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop training plans tailored to program needs and individual team member requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with the team regarding company and organizational updates, acting as a representative for the organization.
  • Lead technical teams in developing, modifying, and maintaining systems, adhering to engineering best practices and standards.
  • Establish and promote high standards for engineering development and accountability.
  • Collaborate with engineering and program management peers to ensure efficient resource allocation to meet mission priorities.
  • Coach and motivate team members to achieve high performance levels.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development processes.
  • Participate in resource planning and hiring activities in conjunction with management.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM field with 4 years of experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance and a recent investigation.
  • At least 1 year of experience in project leadership and performance management.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering development lifecycle phases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Experience in program control, budgeting, and staffing.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and functional management experience.
  • Current technical involvement in relevant programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Familiarity with the full lifecycle of development programs.
  • Experience in missile systems.
