Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is in search of a FFDR Systems Engineering Manager 3 Campaign Lead for the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division Engineering and Manufacturing team.

This role will be situated in Roy, UT or Colorado Springs, CO, providing essential support across all business sectors within the SDS portfolio.

Northrop Grumman is committed to supporting the Air Force's maintenance, development, production, and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and related infrastructure.

This position operates on a standard 9/80 work schedule, allowing employees to enjoy every other Friday off when working a nine-hour day from Monday to Thursday.

Key Responsibilities:


The Sentinel program presents an exciting opportunity for a First Flight Design Review (FFDR) Campaign Lead within the Sentinel Systems Engineering team.

FFDR is a pivotal event for the Sentinel program, confirming that the first flight configuration is established and primed for the program's First Flight test event.

The FFDR Campaign Lead holds leadership accountability for the FFDR MPE, overseeing the development and integration activities necessary for success at this critical event.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the FFDR Chair event.
  • Formulating FFDR campaign strategies and corresponding roadmaps.
  • Conducting lower-level/incremental build-up activities and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) to maintain a manageable risk posture for a successful FFDR MPE.
  • Presenting briefings to executive program and customer leadership.
  • Publishing plans, procedures, checklists, and metrics in support of the FFDR MPE.
  • Monitoring and reporting on technical, cost, and schedule progress to program leadership, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Developing and managing handling plans for risks and opportunities associated with the FFDR MPE.
  • Ensuring timely capture, presentation, and delivery of content to support campaign events.
  • Compiling and delivering the FFDR data package, including understanding the technical products that contribute to the data package.
  • Providing down-and-in event support to other product segment teams across the program.

Qualifications:


To qualify, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Technology (STEM) with 8 years of relevant experience; OR a Master's Degree in STEM with 6 years of relevant experience; OR a PhD in STEM with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a formal management role.
  • U.S. Citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance and an investigation date within the last 6 years.
  • Experience collaborating with subcontractors and customers at all levels.
  • Proficiency in program reporting.
  • EVM certification with experience in reporting and VARs.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications:


Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • Experience with ICBM systems.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience leading small teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in large-scale, complex system development across multiple phases: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and testing, verification and transition to production.
  • Experience with technical reviews for large-scale and complex system development.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering tools, practices, and methodologies.

Salary Range:
$156,000 - $246,400

The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may qualify for Long Term Incentives.
