Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is looking to add a Subcontract Management Team (SMT) Engineer / Principal Engineer to our diverse and talented workforce. This role will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating the SMT Battle Rhythm through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Engaging with suppliers to ensure seamless integration between the Northrop Grumman team and Major Subsystems Subcontractors.
  • Coordinating with the Global Supply Chain and Engineering teams for Engineering Change Proposals.
  • Collaborating with Systems Engineering, PM&P Engineering, Software Engineering, Design Engineering, Mission Assurance/Quality, and program management.

Leadership in Change Requests throughout the SMT Life Cycle:

  • Coordinating with SMT RE and internal stakeholders to define change requirements.
  • Identifying appropriate subcontractor baseline documentation for change requests.
  • Creating TRB/CCB packages for baseline control and RFP approval.
  • Working with Subcontracts on RFP generation.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors and the Global Supply Chain on proposal submissions.
  • Negotiating CCB Package Approval Ceiling Budgets.
  • Collaborating with SMT RE for technical evaluations post-proposal receipt.
  • Engaging with the PCAR team and GSC for initial offer generation.
  • Coordinating with GSC and subcontractors on negotiation timelines.
  • Supporting contract modification negotiations with subcontractors.

This position typically follows a 9/80 work schedule, allowing employees to work nine-hour days from Monday to Thursday and take every other Friday off.

This role may also offer a competitive relocation assistance package and may involve up to 25% travel.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • For Subcontract Management Team (SMT) Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 2 years of experience, or a Master's degree with no experience.
  • For Principal Subcontract Management Team (SMT): Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience; or a PhD with no experience.

Required for Both Levels:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Must have the capability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Ability to comprehend engineering challenges, coordinate with the NG Engineering team to identify solutions, and drive engineering execution.
  • Capability to distill complex technical challenges into presentations for program management and leadership.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with subcontractors on DoD programs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Experience with the engineering, manufacturing, and development lifecycle.
  • Experience with cost-plus DoD contracts.
  • CAM or Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
  • Experience with CAMEO/Model Based Systems Engineering, DOORs, or CPLM systems.

Salary Range: $68,500 - $102,700

Salary Range 2: $84,200 - $126,400

The above salary ranges represent general guidelines; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay, designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may qualify for Long Term Incentives. Northrop Grumman also provides a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plans, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and personal business.
