OFFICE OVERVIEW:
The School of Education is dedicated to training future educators for entry-level positions in various educational settings, including public, private, and parochial institutions. Additionally, it offers advanced degrees and certifications for current educators and administrators seeking professional development.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The MAEL Recruiter will play a crucial role in the recruitment process for the 30-unit MAEL degree programs, which include Social Emotional Learning, Character, and Ethics, as well as Cognition, Motivation, and Development, along with the 15-unit MAEL graduate certificate options. This position is essential in supporting the university's mission.
APPOINTMENT DETAILS:
Recommended by the Dean of the School of Education and approved by the Executive Vice President/Provost.
STAFF INTERACTIONS:
Reports to the Dean of the School of Education and collaborates with the Director of MAEL and the Director of Graduate Admissions. Engages cooperatively with all campus personnel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To excel in this role, the individual must effectively perform the following duties:
MAEL Program Development:
- Collaborate with the Director of MAEL to create a comprehensive recruitment strategy, which will encompass phone outreach, email correspondence, and in-person meetings.
- Conduct weekly meetings with the Director of MAEL to review recruitment initiatives, achievements, and objectives.
- Investigate and compile a list of potential organizations, schools, districts, and individuals to disseminate MAEL information and materials.
- Reach out to groups and individuals via phone, email, or in-person discussions to present MAEL options, maintaining organized records of all communications and recruitment activities.
- Promote upcoming information sessions hosted by the School of Education and provide names for the graduate admissions pipeline, either directly or through an agreed-upon database system.
- Collaborate with Graduate Admissions as necessary to provide updates and implement suggested initiatives.
- Partner with the Associate VP of Enrollment Services and/or Director of Graduate Admissions to establish and manage a budget for promotional materials and other recruitment resources, as required.
- Aim to fill at least one complete cohort for each MAEL program for the designated terms and start dates.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of one to two years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Strong command of the English language, including writing, spelling, grammar, and verbal communication.
- Openness to learning new job-related skills.
- Awareness of appropriate behavior and attire for a Christian university environment.
