Student Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Intern to join our team at the Office of the General Counsel of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). As a Legal Student Trainee within the Pathways Program, you will receive training and perform duties under the supervision of a higher-graded attorney.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting research on legal questions and factual situations involving well-established, determinable facts and precedents.
- Analyzing case law, regulation, and Federal statute directly related to Government contract formations and Federal appropriations law.
- Preparing memoranda or reports outlining the facts and legal issues involved, explaining the application of legal principles and precedents, and justifying recommendations or conclusions.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of the application of various laws, regulations, and other applicable documents and legal research materials.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to Federal Government contracting law, the Competition in Contracting Act, the Service Contracts Act, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Federal appropriations, the bona fide need rule, and the expenditure of official representation funds.
- Knowledge of contract and Federal appropriations regulations, relevant court decisions, Government Accountability Office opinions, implementing regulations, and other applicable laws sufficient to determine, without supervision, whether a proposed procurement complies with relevant contract and fiscal law.
Preferred qualifications include a full-time student enrolled in an HBCU, PBI, or MI, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a strong understanding of legal terminology and legal issues.
