Student Volunteer Internship Opportunity
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented students to participate in our Student Volunteer Internship program. As a Student Volunteer Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop new skills, and contribute to the mission of the GAO.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and completing work assignments on time
- Collect and analyze relevant information
- Prepare quality documents
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
- Contribute to team efforts and collaborate with others to achieve goals
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Actively enrolled at least half-time in an accredited educational institution
- Good academic standing
- Free from conflict of interest
- Must be able to pass a valid background check
Qualifications:
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize multiple assignments simultaneously to meet deadlines
- Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Education:
- Must submit academic transcripts to be eligible
- Transcripts may be unofficial or official and must show student status and support educational claim
Foreign Education:
- If using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, must show education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization and deemed equivalent to U.S. education program
Additional Information:
- This vacancy posting is a standing register to fill ongoing Student Intern Volunteer positions in various offices
- Student Volunteers may work during school year and/or summer or school vacation periods
- Nature of volunteer assignment and work schedule will be established once on-board
- Telework eligibility will be reassessed at start date
