Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Program Specialist 3 to join our team at Clark College. As a key member of our Child and Family Studies Program, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children, assessing their social, intellectual, emotional, nutritional, and physical needs, and developing child- and adult-directed educational activities based on those needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement curriculum for children and families enrolled in the child care program
  • Assess and document children's learning levels and progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Supervise and direct aides and Early Childhood Education students in the classroom
  • Provide written and verbal information on child development, developmentally appropriate practices, and guidance techniques
  • Mentor adult learners and provide feedback on their work
  • Maintain data on students and children, including attendance records, meal counts, and assessment reports
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Development, or related field
  • Valid certification in CPR and First Aid, or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Two years of experience working in a group setting with children ages 3 to 5 years old
  • Two years of experience providing verbal and written feedback to adult learners
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Relationship Based Curriculum, Emergent Curriculum, and Reggio Emilia
  • Knowledge of state licensing regulations, QRIS, NAEYC Code of Ethics, and developmentally appropriate practices
