As a project lead, you will oversee all controls engineering tasks necessary for developing tailored solutions that meet project specifications. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement comprehensive automation systems from initial concept to production, focusing on:
  • Translating client requirements into detailed design specifications, assessing feasibility, and providing technical guidance.
  • Creating and developing electrical systems for custom automation solutions, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Programming and configuring PLCs, HMIs, robotics, safety systems, vision systems, and other control devices for precise automation control.
  • Conducting rigorous testing and validation of control systems to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
  • Offering technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of custom automation projects.
  • Managing full system programming, testing, debugging, commissioning, and upgrades.
  • Executing complete electrical designs, including professional schematics and panel layouts.
  • Performing design reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creating and verifying detailed bills of materials for accuracy.
  • Maintaining project schedules and updating drawings as necessary.
  • Identifying potential risks during the initial project quoting process.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing control systems for custom automation projects.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and software developers.
  • Strong understanding of automation requirements and the ability to customize solutions for clients.
  • Excellent documentation skills, including control system architecture diagrams and user manuals.
  • Proficiency in the Rockwell Control/Compact Logix platform and experience in writing PLC code from scratch.
  • Ability to provide technical support during all phases of custom automation projects.
  • Experience with robotics, automation systems, and various control devices.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
  • Project management and analytical skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education:

  • BSEE or BSEET with 5+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls development.
  • ASEE or ASEET with 10+ years of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Other degrees with appropriate experience may be accepted.
