We're looking for a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as an Outside Sales Professional. This role involves building relationships with families in need, providing guidance on funeral services, and promoting the benefits of pre-planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Generation
    • Create and execute strategies to network and build relationships with potential clients, resulting in consistent referrals for at-need and pre-need arrangements.
    • Prospect and generate leads through face-to-face interactions, door knocking, and group seminars, aiming for a minimum of 4 hours of prospecting per day.
    • Follow up with families served by visiting them after the service to obtain referrals and maintain strong relationships.
    • Navigate community and civic events to network and build relationships.
    • Present Dignity Memorial Personal Planning Guide presentations to families served and referred families.
    • Track activity levels to ensure productivity and remain flexible with schedule to achieve results.
  • Build Relationships with Families
    • Establish and maintain strong business relationships with families by connecting with them, addressing their concerns, and following through on commitments.
    • Respond promptly to client inquiries in a respectful, sensitive, and professional manner.
    • Show empathy and kindness to families in time of grief.
    • Connect with families through active listening, honest communication, and genuine concern.
    • Develop an understanding of each family's unique needs and offer solutions that provide value.
    • Maintain regular contact with families to ensure satisfaction.
    • Prepare thoroughly for appointments and perform procedures with professionalism and attention to detail.
    • Provide exceptional service beyond expectations to form long-term relationships and earn referrals.
    • Become trusted advisors to families by educating them on the benefits of pre-planning.
  • Teamwork
    • Collaborate effectively with Funeral Directors and other staff members to provide seamless service.
    • Work cooperatively with funeral home and/or cemetery staff to deliver high-quality service.
    • Act as a link between services provided at need and aftercare, while also promoting future services.
    • Review previous services and contacts with families to prepare for current needs and sales.
    • Set arrangement continuation visits within two to three days after the service and share family concerns with the rest of the SCI team.

Requirements:

Education:
  • A high school education or equivalent is required; 1-2 years of college or equivalent experience is preferred.
License:
  • A valid state/province issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record is necessary.
  • In states/provinces where required, a Funeral Directors License must be held to perform this role.
Experience:
  • Sales experience or one to two years industry experience or equivalent education is required.
  • Previous experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic computer and technology skills are essential within a sales environment.
  • The ability to work well in a team and independently is crucial.
  • Flexibility to work beyond standard hours is required due to the nature of the job.
  • A good driving record is essential.
  • A strong work ethic, high-level of integrity, and creative approach to problem-solving are highly valued.
  • Outgoing and energetic individuals who are comfortable presenting in front of others are ideal candidates.
  • A desire to help others and make a positive impact in the community is essential.
  • Bilingualism, knowledge of another language is a plus.

Compensation:

Salary: $33,280 - $80,000 annualized targeted first year earnings ($16.00/hour)
