Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Inspector to join our team at the City of Peoria. As an Electrical Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of electrical installations in commercial, residential, and multi-family dwellings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and evaluate electrical installations to ensure safety, durability, capacity, and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Provide general electrical assistance to Code Enforcement staff, Fire and Building Inspectors, and respond to electrical questions from contractors, engineers, and the general public.
  • Perform permit verification and record keeping, ensuring electrical permits are applied for and issued, and maintaining detailed records of inspections.
  • Notify contractors of inspection outcomes, and respond to code complaints and evaluate violations.
Requirements
  • Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school, or over two years up to and including four years progressively responsible related experience.
  • A valid State Driver's License is required.
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job is considered.
