Job Summary:

The Mechanical Assembly Specialist at Komatsu is responsible for executing a variety of component and final assembly tasks in the production of off-road mining trucks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Constructing and testing brake assemblies.
  • Installing hydraulic components.
  • Final assembly of chassis and powertrain structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, including the assembly of hydraulic systems and the installation and adjustment of mechanical components.
  • Conduct final testing and ensure quality control of equipment prior to shipment.
  • Work from engineering drawings and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain safety and quality standards in all tasks, utilizing appropriate protective equipment.
  • Assist in the installation of harness structures and cables under the guidance of an Electrical Assembler.
  • Disassemble and prepare equipment for shipment as directed.
  • Engage in light carpentry tasks as needed.
  • Utilize information systems as required to fulfill job responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A minimum of three years of experience as an automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Experience in related fields such as aviation, marine mechanics, major appliance repair, or HVAC repair involving complex assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints for assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
  • Computer literacy for documentation and information retrieval.
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety in an industrial setting.

All candidates must be prepared to complete a physical assessment in accordance with DOL Medium duty work requirements, including drug testing.
