Job Overview

Objective: This role is accountable for managing the brewery's maintenance initiatives aimed at enhancing the balance between preventative and reactive maintenance activities, inventory management, and departmental scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify strong leadership through proactive management techniques.
  • Support the adherence to all quality benchmarks established for a CANarchy Craft Brewery.
  • Utilize effective communication methods, including email and verbal exchanges, to ensure timely information dissemination.
  • Supervise the maintenance department to guarantee continuous support for production and facility upkeep.
  • Guide the maintenance crew in executing daily operational tasks efficiently.
  • Enhance and sustain the brewery's preventative maintenance strategy, ensuring optimal performance of facility equipment.
  • Coordinate repair timelines with production managers to minimize unexpected downtimes.
  • Collaborate with production managers to create, refine, and apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Act swiftly to address issues and connect relevant stakeholders when challenges arise.
  • Ensure maintenance areas are maintained in a clean, organized manner, compliant with 5S principles.
  • Work with external vendors to ensure project completion within budget and timelines.
  • Maintain a sufficient inventory of spare parts and maintenance tools within the brewery's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Keep comprehensive records of equipment and facility procedures, including manuals and schematic diagrams.
  • Regularly assess brewery equipment for potential hazards and risks to operators.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the workplace.
  • Collaborate with safety coordinators to uphold all safety policies and regulations.

Additional Duties:

  • Uphold 5S standards throughout the brewery.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.
  • Communicate any issues related to product availability.
  • Perform other related tasks as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, and CMMS inventory management systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and effective interdepartmental communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and adept at multitasking.
  • Strong communication skills with a proactive approach to inquiries.
  • Ability to make informed and responsible decisions.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

The candidate must possess the physical and mental stamina to perform duties in challenging environments and manage the stressors associated with operational and administrative tasks. Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs to shoulder height and the ability to push or pull loads of 160 lbs are required. The role involves standing, sitting, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, seeing, and operating tools and equipment. Night shifts may be necessary.

Minimum Education: B.S. in Engineering preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: 7+ years in maintenance within a manufacturing setting; 5+ years in a management role, ideally overseeing facility maintenance; 5+ years in electrical work, including VFDs and PLCs; 3+ years utilizing CMMS software; 1+ year at an administrative level; demonstrated expertise in electrical schematics, mechanical systems, and plumbing.
