Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting reimbursement efforts by collecting and verifying demographic and insurance information from patients. You will also be responsible for obtaining and documenting patient signatures, updating patient registration systems, and creating medical records for use in patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and verify demographic and insurance information from patients
- Obtain and document patient signatures
- Update patient registration systems as needed
- Create medical records for use in patient care
- Provide a welcoming environment for patients
- Collect co-payments and/or pre-payments
- Facilitate on-time arrival of patients to clinical areas
- High school diploma and two years of experience working in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and third-party payer requirements
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service and/or patient care skills
- Strong organization, interpersonal communication, and computer skills
- Ability to problem-solve and prioritize tasks successfully
- Proficiency in telephone management and healthcare computer systems
- Experience working with banking transaction systems
