We are excited to present an opportunity with a prominent Private Equity firm seeking a Senior Fund Accountant.

This organization focuses its investment efforts on sustainable infrastructure and low-carbon real assets across North America. The Chief Financial Officer is looking for a Senior Fund Accountant to assist with fund accounting, tax processes, and the financial requirements of the management entity within a growing energy transition investment landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Company Duties

  • Assist the CFO in managing the operations of the Management Company
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements, conduct budget reviews, and oversee monthly closings
  • Manage the expense process: evaluate vendor invoices and payments, review employee expense reports, and allocate fund expenses
  • Support the planning and execution of tax estimates and payments
  • Lead special projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and automation

Fund Accounting and Tax Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Controller on the Funds' quarterly closing activities; this includes reviewing the fund administrator's cash and investment entries, workpapers, capital account statements, and financial reports
  • Examine capital call and distribution allocation documents and notifications
  • Coordinate the funds' liquidity management for cash flow and credit facilities
  • Facilitate the annual audit and tax return processes, coordinating timelines and schedules with audit and tax firms as well as the fund administrator
  • Engage with Investor Relations on inquiries and due diligence requests
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in public accounting (preferably in the alternative investment sector) or fund administration
  • Proven ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with accounting software is essential
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated work ethic, initiative, and meticulous attention to detail
  • CPA designation is preferred
