Private Equity Fund Accounting Lead

Position Overview:
Vaco is seeking a skilled Fund Accounting Manager specializing in Private Equity to enhance our client's investment firm. This position offers a unique chance to engage in innovative projects within the finance and investment sectors. Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute quarterly and annual closing processes for all funds, including a thorough review of NAV packages.
  • Manage capital calls, distributions (including carried interest waterfalls), and information requests.
  • Maintain comprehensive accounting and legal documentation.
  • Oversee performance reporting, IRR calculations, and incentive computations.
  • Collaborate with administrators to resolve accounting inquiries and challenges.
  • Assist with interim and annual audits.
  • Administer the in-house accounting system.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Conduct private valuations.
  • Handle annual and other compliance submissions.
  • Facilitate fund/SPV establishment.
  • Ensure tax compliance.
  • Participate in special projects related to overall firm operations.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting.
  • 4-7 years of experience in private equity or venture capital.
  • CPA certification or a pathway to obtaining it is preferred (not mandatory).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Investran is advantageous (but not essential).

Compensation:

The compensation for this role at Vaco is determined by various factors, including individual skills, experience, training, certifications, and geographic considerations. As required by local law, the estimated salary range for this position is $120K - $160K annually.
