We are excited to present an opportunity with a prominent Private Equity firm seeking a Senior Fund Accountant.

This organization focuses on investments in clean infrastructure and low-carbon real assets across North America. The Chief Financial Officer is in search of a Senior Fund Accountant to assist with fund accounting, tax processes, and the financial requirements of the management entity within a rapidly expanding energy transition investment landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Company Support

  • Assist the CFO in managing the financial operations of the Management Company.
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements, conduct budget reviews, and oversee monthly financial closings.
  • Manage the expense process, including the review of vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and fund expense allocations.
  • Support tax planning and the preparation of tax estimates and payments.
  • Lead special projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and automation.

Fund Accounting and Tax Compliance

  • Collaborate with the Controller during the quarterly closing process for the Funds, which includes reviewing cash and investment bookings, workpapers, capital account statements, and financial reports prepared by the fund administrator.
  • Examine capital call and distribution allocation documents and notifications.
  • Coordinate the liquidity management process for the funds, including cash management and credit line oversight.
  • Facilitate the annual audit and tax return processes by coordinating timelines and schedules with audit firms, tax professionals, and the fund administrator.
  • Work alongside Investor Relations to address inquiries and conduct due diligence.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 2-4 years of experience in public accounting (preferably in the alternative investment sector) or fund administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with accounting software is essential.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Exemplary work ethic, initiative, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
