We are excited to present an opportunity for a Senior Fund Accountant at a prominent Private Equity firm.
This organization focuses on investments in clean infrastructure and low-carbon real assets across North America. The Chief Financial Officer is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to assist with fund accounting, tax processes, and the financial requirements of the management entity within a dynamic energy transition investment firm.
Key Responsibilities:Management Company Duties
- Provide support to the CFO of the Management Company.
- Prepare quarterly financial statements, conduct budget reviews, and manage monthly closing processes.
- Supervise the expense management process: evaluate vendor invoices and payments, assess employee expense reports, and prepare fund expense distributions.
- Aid in the planning and execution of tax estimates and payments.
- Lead special projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and automation.
Fund Accounting and Tax Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Controller on the Funds' quarterly closing activities, which includes reviewing the fund administrator's cash and investment entries, workpapers, capital account statements, and financial reports.
- Analyze capital calls and distribution allocation documents and notifications.
- Manage the funds' liquidity processes related to cash management and credit facilities.
- Facilitate the annual audit and tax return processes, coordinating timelines and schedules with audit and tax firms as well as the fund administrator.
- Work alongside Investor Relations on inquiries and due diligence efforts.
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 2-4 years of experience in public accounting (preferably in the alternative investment sector) or fund administration.
- Proven ability to work independently, demonstrating the capacity to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with accounting software is essential.
- Strong analytical abilities, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A solid work ethic, initiative, and meticulous attention to detail are required.
- CPA designation is preferred.
