Key Responsibilities
  • Member Service: Provide day-to-day member service excellence, ensuring member expectations are met while identifying, acquiring, and growing new and existing consumer relationships.
  • Relationship Building: Model leadership, service excellence, and cultural attributes, aligning responsibilities with the company's strategic roadmap, purpose, vision, and values.
  • Team Collaboration: Promote team spirit with employees, assist staff with questions/issues/concerns, and mentor/coach staff on daily operations, cross-selling opportunities, and goal attainment.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain required knowledge of products, services, policies, and procedures, laws, and regulations pertaining to deposit and lending functions.
  • Business Growth: Identify, acquire, and grow new and existing consumer relationships, including deposit and loan portfolio, and meet consumer loan sales objectives.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure all new accounts are opened properly and verified timely for audit purposes, complete wire transactions and/or approvals, and maintain required knowledge of loan origination systems and contact management software.
  • Compliance: Protect credit union member assets by identifying all members when transacting business and adhering to security and privacy practices.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3 or more years of experience in originating consumer loans preferred and three to five years related banking positions or equivalent.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, good phone and email etiquette, professional presentation, and high degree of personal initiative.
  • Experience: Experience with creating and writing reports, correspondence, and presentations that effectively present information to staff, top management, public groups, and credit union members.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to use loan origination systems, contact management software, and other Microsoft Office application products, as well as the ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Certifications: Notary a Plus; All Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO) must be actively registered with the National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS).
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work branch operational hours, including weekends, and occasional nights or weekends. Must be able to work onsite in the Berkeley Branch.
