Position Overview
The Deputy Women's Lacrosse Program Director plays a crucial role in assisting the Head Coach with the comprehensive management of the women's lacrosse program. This includes, but is not limited to, coaching responsibilities, recruitment of talented athletes, event organization, oversight of staff, financial planning, and ensuring the academic success of student-athletes. The individual will also be responsible for team logistics, including travel arrangements, equipment management, and adherence to NCAA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and recruit high-caliber student-athletes who are dedicated to both academic and athletic excellence.
  • Exhibit superior coaching skills, focusing on skill development, motivation, and strategic planning while creating a competitive schedule that enhances athlete performance.
  • Foster personal growth among student-athletes by maintaining a professional demeanor and providing opportunities for social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Manage daily operations of the program, including travel, recruitment processes, and equipment logistics.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in compliance with NCAA and institutional regulations.
  • Maintain strong collaborative relationships within the athletic department and the university.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor of Athletics.

Qualifications
Essential Skills:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, including public relations expertise.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of lacrosse, from fundamental skills to advanced strategies, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes and coaching staff to achieve academic and athletic success.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate the dynamic landscape of collegiate athletics.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven coaching experience.
  • Successful track record in recruiting dedicated student-athletes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • Experience coaching at the collegiate level.

Work Environment
The role involves a standard office setting with potential outdoor activities in various weather conditions. The noise and stress levels may vary throughout the season, and travel may be necessary.

Physical Requirements
Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 lbs with assistance may be required, along with a combination of sedentary work and active coaching duties.
