Position Overview:
The role is focused on enhancing student performance in elementary mathematics through tailored support for educational institutions. This includes leading professional development initiatives for teacher leaders and school administrators, crafting and delivering district-wide training for educators, and collaborating with school directors. The position also involves working within the mathematics department to integrate Culturally Responsive teaching methods into the creation of educational resources and providing specialized coaching for educators throughout the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the academic team to design and implement professional learning cycles in elementary mathematics, ensuring alignment with district goals for student achievement.
- Facilitate collaborative learning cycles across various schools, which includes setting educational objectives, conducting observations, and coaching participants.
- Demonstrate exemplary culturally sustaining and inquiry-based teaching practices for teacher leaders, focusing on instructional planning and data-driven feedback.
- Analyze local assessment data and classroom observations to inform and enhance school support strategies.
- Work collaboratively to achieve measurable outcomes at the student level, fostering a strong team culture that embodies district values and a commitment to excellence.
- Partner with the multilingual education team to create professional development and coaching opportunities that promote best practices for supporting multilingual learners.
- Assist in the adoption and implementation of district curriculum.
- Provide guidance to schools regarding legal obligations related to special education.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- A minimum of four years of teaching experience in elementary mathematics, including at least two years of formal coaching experience.
- Experience working in an urban educational setting with multilingual learners is preferred.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Commitment to educational equity and the ability to foster an inclusive environment for all students.
- Must reside in Colorado.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position with or without accommodations.
