Position Overview:
The Digital Modernization Group at Leidos is in search of a Lead Industrial Security Specialist to support a significant program within the U.S. Navy.

This role primarily involves collaboration with a multi-disciplinary security project team to manage personnel, physical, and industrial security operations for a high-profile initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Lead Industrial Security Specialist, you will:

  • Provide expert guidance on security matters, including classified inventory management, document control, and personnel access protocols.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports to recommend preventive or corrective measures in security-related areas.
  • Facilitate internal investigations in compliance with legal and contractual obligations, while ensuring adherence to national industrial security directives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to accurately document security requirements for various applications and systems.
  • Engage with internal partners and military commands to devise effective strategies for vulnerability mitigation and operational continuity.
  • Represent the security function in project meetings, contributing professional insights.
  • Innovate security solutions within program constraints to enhance overall security posture.
  • Perform site inspections at government and contractor facilities to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Assist in drafting and maintaining internal policy documents and standard operating procedures related to industrial security.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding facility access requirements.
  • Conduct pre-inspections for government Cyber Operational Readiness Assessments.

Basic Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates typically possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 8 to 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives, and relevant security systems.
  • Experience with government personnel security systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to achieve program objectives.
  • Technical expertise in electronic physical security systems.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with personnel at all levels.
  • U.S. Citizenship with an active DOD Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional desirable qualifications include:

  • Certifications in personnel, industrial, or physical security.
  • Experience in U.S. Government environments.
  • Background in supporting Navy Marine Corps Intranet or similar networks.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and resolve security challenges independently.
