Lead Industrial Security Specialist

The Digital Modernization Group at Leidos is on the lookout for a Lead Industrial Security Specialist to join our team supporting a significant contract.

This role will primarily focus on facilitating personnel, physical, and industrial security measures within a dynamic and highly visible program dedicated to supporting the U.S. Navy.

As part of our commitment under the program, the Leidos team will play a crucial role in delivering essential services, including cybersecurity, network operations, and data transport, to enhance the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on security matters, including classified inventory management, document control, and personnel access nominations.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports or recommendations for preventive or corrective actions in security-related areas.
  • Lead internal investigations while ensuring compliance with legal, contractual, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to clearly define and document security requirements for various applications and systems.
  • Engage with internal partners and military commands to develop effective strategies for vulnerability mitigation and operational continuity.
  • Represent the security function in project meetings and discussions.
  • Innovate and implement creative security solutions within program constraints.
  • Perform site inspections at government and contractor facilities as needed.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining internal policy documents and standard operating procedures related to industrial security.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding facility access requirements.
  • Conduct pre-inspections for government assessments related to cybersecurity readiness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives, and relevant security systems.
  • Experience with personnel security systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve program objectives.
  • Technical expertise in electronic physical security systems.
  • Proven ability to integrate security measures in complex environments while maintaining safety standards.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with personnel at all levels.
  • U.S. Citizenship with an active DOD Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accreditation in personnel, industrial, or physical security.
  • Experience in U.S. Government environments.
  • Prior involvement with Navy Marine Corps Intranet or similar networks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and resolve security challenges.
  • Experience with National Background Investigation Services.
