Overview: The Digital Modernization Group at Leidos is on the lookout for a Lead Industrial Security Specialist to contribute to the Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) contract.


This role will primarily be based at a key facility, with responsibilities extending to additional local sites. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic security project team, ensuring effective personnel, physical, and industrial security measures for a high-profile program supporting the U.S. Navy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on security matters, including classified inventory management, document control, security investigations, and personnel access processes.
  • Conduct thorough studies and prepare detailed reports or recommendations for preventive or corrective actions in security-related areas.
  • Lead and support internal investigations in compliance with legal, contractual, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to accurately document security requirements for various applications and systems.
  • Develop effective strategies in partnership with internal teams and military commands to mitigate vulnerabilities and ensure operational continuity.
  • Represent the security function in project meetings and discussions.
  • Innovate and implement creative security solutions while adhering to program constraints.
  • Perform site inspections at various facilities to ensure compliance with security protocols.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining internal policy documents and standard operating procedures related to industrial security.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding facility access requirements.
  • Conduct pre-inspections for government Cyber Operational Readiness Assessments (CORA).

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with applicable experience.
  • Familiarity with NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives, and relevant security systems.
  • Experience with personnel security systems and tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve program objectives.
  • Technical knowledge of electronic physical security systems.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with personnel at all levels.
  • U.S. Citizenship with an active DOD Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accreditation in personnel, industrial, or physical security.
  • Experience in government security environments.
  • Prior involvement with Navy Marine Corps Intranet or similar networks.
  • Self-motivated with strong prioritization skills.
  • Experience with National Background Investigation Services.
