Accountant (Financial Analyst)

Unum Group, a leading provider of employee benefits, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting team. As an Accountant at Unum, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, as well as providing financial analysis and insights to inform business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform basic to intermediate analysis and reporting of financial transactions in accordance with accounting standards.
- Prepare, record, analyze, and report accounting transactions, ensuring the integrity of accounting records.
- Conduct research on the impact of potential changes to accounting rules on financial statements.
- Develop, implement, and communicate new policies and processes to comply with newly issued accounting standards.
- Participate in regular monthly/quarterly financial cycles, preparing and verifying financial statements for various governmental and regulatory agencies.
- CPA eligible or certified
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to utilize technology to increase process efficiencies
- Basic to intermediate Excel skills
- General ledger systems and reporting tools experience preferred
Unum Group offers a competitive salary range of $45,600.00-$82,100.00, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare benefits, insurance benefits, performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match.
