Staff Accountant Job Description
Job Summary
Browne Trading Company is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving our system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk and ensure compliance with corporate, GAAP, and ethical standards.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized individual with strong communication and time management skills. Experience in QuickBooks POS and Fresh Byte, or other accounting systems, is preferred.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of best practices in accounting and be able to analyze budgets and other financial information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Enter financial data and transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Perform account reconciliations and prepare financial reports and statements
  • Verify the accuracy of transactions and process accounts payable weekly
  • File and pay monthly Sales Taxes and process ACH Transfers
  • Analyze budgets and other financial information to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Perform month-end closing process and summary

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
