Position Summary

The Business Banking Officer II plays a crucial role within the Business Banking division, focusing on the growth and enhancement of STCU's business member offerings. This role primarily involves the establishment and development of new business loans, deposits, and cash management solutions for both new and existing members. The focus is on commercial and industrial prospects with borrowing needs up to $500,000 and owner-occupied real estate loans up to $1 million.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve and surpass individual performance targets by creating, implementing, and documenting a strategic calling and prospecting plan.
  • Manage and nurture an existing loan and deposit portfolio by maintaining a trusted advisor relationship with members, ensuring regular communication, and providing tailored product recommendations.
  • Enhance credit skills by staying informed about STCU's Member Business Loan Policy, standards, and procedures, while offering competitive terms and conditions for credit and deposit requests.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Propose improvements for interdepartmental collaboration and serve as a mentor to fellow Business Banking Officers.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with Retail Branches and STCU Connect, ensuring timely responses to referrals to exceed member expectations.
  • Engage in community events and serve on boards to expand professional networks while staying updated on industry trends through relevant publications and educational opportunities.
  • Maintain knowledge of SBA lending programs and actively promote these products to members and prospects, collaborating with internal teams to gather necessary information.
Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience: A minimum of five years of experience working with business clients, including at least three years of successful sales experience in a production environment.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with cloud banking software and/or construction loan management software such as nCino, Built, and Malauzai is preferred. Proficient in MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly communicate, hear, and operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse, with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds with accommodations.

Work Environment: Exposure to typical office sounds at a low to moderate level, with a high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-driven atmosphere.

Travel Requirements: Travel may be necessary for site inspections and/or meetings and training.
