About the Role:

The Client Service Specialist I is responsible for efficiently processing various customer account transactions while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. This role is pivotal in delivering an outstanding banking experience by nurturing customer relationships and recommending suitable products and services.
  • Execute cash handling tasks, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and transfers.
  • Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and transaction records.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of both new and existing banking products and services.
  • Assess customer financial needs to identify and suggest appropriate banking solutions.
  • Safeguard against losses by ensuring the secure handling of cash and prompt fund transfers.
  • Detect and report any fraudulent activities.
  • Assist in daily operational tasks to uphold branch integrity, such as balancing ATMs and processing returned mail.
  • Support branch referral objectives by identifying and directing customers to relevant banking products.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service experiences.
  • Adhere to all banking regulations relevant to the role and stay informed about regulatory changes.
  • Comply with all bank policies and procedures, completing necessary training.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Bank policies related to the Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable regulations.
  • Actively promote and embody the Umpqua corporate culture in all interactions.
  • Exhibit initiative and serve as a positive role model for peers.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
About You:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a client service role.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced cash handling environment.
  • Maintain professionalism at all times.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Work effectively within a team setting.
  • Successfully complete Client Service Specialist training programs.
  • Develop and sustain knowledge of bank policies and systems.
  • May assist with operational tasks of personal bankers or assistant managers.
  • Build skills to identify opportunities for relationship development, including outbound customer calls.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced client service specialists as needed.
Workstyle: Fully onsite

Our Benefits:

We offer a competitive total rewards package that includes base pay and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this position is $18.00-$24.00, with the final rate determined by various non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and location. Performance-based incentive compensation may also be available, with details provided during the recruitment process.
