Job Summary:

**Overview of the Role**

The Cherokee Nation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to oversee the day-to-day administration of the Gadugi Corps Program. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Program Oversight**: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Gadugi Corps Program, ensuring that it aligns with the Cherokee Nation's goals and objectives.
  • **Project Management**: Assist in the implementation and execution of projects, including the development of project plans, budgets, and timelines.
  • **Team Management**: Lead and direct the work of Program Assistants, CSR's, Work Experience Participants, and Volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • **Event Planning**: Execute events such as academic camps, mentorship coordinating, tutoring coordinating, volunteer projects with on-reservation volunteers.
  • **Community Engagement**: Foster collaboration and engagement across multiple sectors to improve the lives and well-being of Cherokee Nation citizens and communities.
  • **Volunteer Management**: Develop and maintain a repository of volunteers, services, and funding opportunities for community service, mentorship, and disaster preparedness/response.
  • **Program Development**: Assist in organizing volunteer and service-oriented programs, as well as promote existing volunteerism and service-oriented programs.
  • **Reporting and Evaluation**: Compile, store, and retrieve program data, and maintain records, files, and reports.

Requirements:

  • **Education**: Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university; or six (6) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • **Experience**: At least five (5) years of experience in a related field.
  • **Skills**: Project management, communication, collaboration, organization, leadership, problem-solving, and time management.

Physical Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
