Position Overview:
The Academic Program Facilitator is responsible for guiding adolescents and young adults through both academic and life skills development, while creating and adapting educational resources.

Key Responsibilities:
- Educate students in designated subjects to enhance their job readiness in alignment with established standards.
- Prepare learners for necessary assessments by delivering relevant content in both verbal and written formats.
- Offer supplementary support and mentorship to address individual student needs.
- Administer and evaluate mandatory assessments as per requirements.
- Review assessments and appraise students' understanding and performance in various subjects.
- Provide counseling to students regarding their academic progress and achievements.
- Develop, maintain, and organize instructional materials and an inventory of educational resources.
- Compile, maintain, and submit necessary reports, evaluations, and other records as required.
- Engage in committee responsibilities as needed.
- Uphold classroom discipline and manage student behavior effectively.
- Foster and enhance the self-esteem of all students to help them become productive and employable members of society.
- Supervise students outside of the classroom environment.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

SUPERVISORY ROLE
No supervisory responsibilities are associated with this position.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.

EXPERIENCE
No prior experience is necessary.

TECHNOLOGICAL PROFICIENCIES
Proficiency in Database management, Internet navigation, Spreadsheet applications, and Word Processing software is expected.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
A valid Driver's License is preferred.

In cases where a driver does not meet the Cherokee Nation underwriting criteria, they will be excluded from driving GSA vehicles.

A valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate or license is preferred.

Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within 180 days of employment and maintain it throughout the duration of employment.


ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES
No additional skills are required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS


Employees must not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or the General Services Administration (GSA), nor listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers.

Must comply with pre-employment and ongoing background checks for child care positions. Completion of any specialized training mandated by the Department of Labor is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this role, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk.

Occasionally, the employee may need to sit, use hands for tasks, reach with arms, and perform actions such as stooping or kneeling.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
While fulfilling the responsibilities of this position, the employee may occasionally work in outdoor conditions. The typical noise level in the work environment is moderate.
