About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Enterprise Moves Section Supervisor at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight to ensure the safe and efficient movement of APL property, including facilities, equipment, and personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Enterprise Moves Section, ensuring compliance with APL and industry best practices and guidelines.
  • Ensure the section has the necessary resources, facilities, equipment, and analytical tools to meet its mission.
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve goals and build capabilities, including the pursuit of new initiatives.
  • Support staff development and coaching, including receiving partner feedback and empowering staff to create a culture of excellence, problem-solving, and diversity of thought.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster partnering and maximize impact to the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent knowledge in the movement of materials and equipment.
  • 6+ years of success in leading and managing staff, with experience in move management and surplus property or proven leadership skills in logistics.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to think strategically and lead change.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, develop, and inspire staff, with a demonstrated ability to cultivate strong relationships across organizational boundaries.
  • Unquestionable integrity, with exceptional communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance, with eligibility requirements including U.S. citizenship.
  • Knowledge/experience with MS Office suite products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of and solid understanding of Tririga's Move Management.
  • Knowledge/experience with GSA asset management/property disposal.
  • Successful experience leading a relocation project involving at least 250 staff with associated equipment and furniture.
