Position Summary

As a Lead Industrial Process Engineer at Burlington Stores, you will be instrumental in enhancing operational effectiveness and fostering productivity advancements. Your responsibilities will include establishing and sustaining precise engineered benchmarks, defining and promoting "Best Practices" across various job roles, and aligning with business goals through comprehensive assessments and project executions. You will also provide mentorship to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the creation and upkeep of precise and impactful engineered benchmarks through time and frequency evaluations.
  • Establish and uphold "Best Practices" for all job roles, including training for both management and hourly staff on productivity and operational methods.
  • Facilitate business goals and enhance expense and throughput initiatives through thorough assessments, workflow analysis, recommendations, and project execution.
  • Utilize suitable project management methodologies to plan, develop, and coordinate the successful completion of assigned tasks, delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Experiment with innovative concepts to enhance the flow and configuration within distribution facilities.
  • Assist in the design and deployment of material handling systems integrated into existing and new network structures.
  • Support capital initiatives as needed with work sampling, cost justification (Return on Investment), and cost/benefit evaluations.
  • Guide less experienced engineers and contribute to team education, training, and the facilitation of engineering principles. Aid in managing the productivity support team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in projects focused on process design, work measurement, productivity enhancement, cost reduction, and project execution.
  • Familiarity with work measurement techniques and tools, particularly in time study methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Standard Data and Predetermined Time Systems (such as MTM, MOST).
  • Experience in developing and implementing best practices.
  • Proficient in productivity monitoring and data collection systems.
  • Skilled in SQL, R, or Python for executing complex data analyses, including querying, manipulating, and transforming extensive datasets to derive actionable insights.
  • Experience in maintaining a management observation and accountability program.
  • Familiarity with Manhattan Associates Supply Chain suite is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Dematic WCS functionality is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is preferred.
