Job Overview
We are in search of a driven and innovative Process Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and enhancement of groundbreaking 'Haber Bosch 2.0' Ammonia facilities. You will initiate with a blank slate design and oversee the process through startup, commissioning, and operational phases, incorporating insights from concurrent developments.

Your role will involve collaboration with a multidisciplinary engineering team to outline and model our pilot and commercial-scale operations. You will create comprehensive mass and energy balances, define equipment specifications, assess build versus outsource decisions, and implement your designs through to operational execution.

The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of industry experience in chemical process design, modeling, and engineering, having navigated the complete cycle of plant design from concept through construction to operational readiness.
  • Design, develop, and enhance chemical processes across all design phases (from conceptualization to commissioning).
  • Create process flow diagrams, heat and mass balances, P&IDs, control strategies, and process simulation models utilizing industry-standard software tools (such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or gPROMS).
  • Assemble an engineering team to facilitate detailed design for pilot plants through to deployment, including internal hires, vendors, and external engineering firms.
  • Specify and procure plant components (including heat exchangers, condensers, valves, mass flow controllers) while ensuring commercial availability in the design.
  • Develop high-fidelity technoeconomic models and prepare project cost estimates.


Candidate Profile:
You are a systems-oriented and detail-focused chemical engineer with a passion for developing new technologies and executing projects at all design stages. You thrive in a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative environment; you approach tasks with a proactive mindset and prioritize clear communication, working with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.

Successful candidates should ideally possess the following:
  • 10+ years of experience in chemical process design and optimization, particularly in ammonia, specialty chemicals, petrochemicals, or related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of process simulation tools (such as Aspen, gPROMS, or similar) and programming languages (such as Python or MATLAB).
  • Proven experience in developing Basic Engineering Packages (BEPs) and/or FEED packages for projects in chemical, specialty chemical, or fuels processing.
  • Demonstrated experience across all stages of chemical process design, from initial concept to design studies to commissioning and operation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of process safety, including the capability to conduct hazard analyses, implement safety measures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in developing pilot or first-of-a-kind plants for novel technologies, particularly in advancing FOAK technologies through FID and pilot operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in dynamic modeling of chemical processes.
  • Subject matter expertise in thermochemical reactors, heat exchangers, compressors, gas-gas separations, or related areas.
