FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled Molding Manager to direct and enhance our molding and production operations. This role entails overseeing production across three shifts in a 24/5 environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise in plastic injection molding processes, particularly with both small and large tonnage machinery.

Relocation assistance is available, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in plastic injection molding is mandatory. This position offers a clear pathway for advancement to plant manager and potentially general manager roles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Molding Management:

➢ Supervise and implement a data-driven scientific molding approach, addressing processing challenges and optimizing cycle times.

➢ Ensure that molding processes are up-to-date and thoroughly documented.

➢ Lead the production team to achieve quality standards and cycle time objectives.

➢ Oversee the introduction of new projects on the production floor, from initial processing to final assembly and packaging.

➢ Provide technical guidance to the production department, focusing on process, material, and equipment enhancements.

➢ Establish in-process controls to maintain high product quality.

➢ Mentor and develop the three process technician leads across shifts.

➢ Foster a collaborative environment by providing technical support across all departments.

Production Oversight:

➢ Develop and manage the production schedule to meet customer delivery dates, quality, and production targets.

➢ Assess employee performance through training, goal-setting, and accountability measures.

➢ Coordinate tool repairs and maintenance work orders efficiently.

➢ Prepare and validate production reports, ensuring targets are met and addressing any discrepancies.

➢ Achieve KPI objectives, including downtime, scrap rates, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

➢ Recommend capital improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, safety, or reduce operational costs.

➢ Design, implement, and maintain processes related to molding parts, subcomponents, and assemblies.

➢ Integrate automation solutions to minimize waste, labor, and scrap.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of experience in plastic injection molding, with proficiency in a variety of molding machinery and equipment. RJG or equivalent training is preferred.
  • Experience programming robots and other automation technologies.
  • Ability to implement automation strategies that boost operational efficiency.
  • Strong familiarity with ERP systems, ideally IQMS.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
