FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Molding Manager with a solid track record to oversee and direct our molding and production initiatives. This role involves managing production across three shifts in a 24/5 operational environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical expertise in plastic injection molding processes, including experience with both small and large tonnage machinery.

Relocation assistance is available, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in plastic injection molding is essential. This position offers a pathway to advance to plant manager and potentially general manager roles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Molding:

➢ Lead and implement a data-driven scientific molding approach, addressing processing challenges and enhancing cycle times.

➢ Ensure that molding processes are up-to-date and thoroughly documented.

➢ Supervise the production team to achieve quality and cycle time objectives.

➢ Spearhead new project launches on the production floor, from initial part processing to final assembly and packaging.

➢ Provide technical guidance for the production department, fostering improvements in processes, materials, and equipment.

➢ Establish in-process controls to uphold product quality standards.

➢ Mentor and develop the three process technician leads across shifts.

➢ Offer technical support and collaborate effectively with all departments.

Production:

➢ Develop the company's production schedule, ensuring adherence to customer delivery dates, quality standards, and production targets.

➢ Manage employee performance through training, goal-setting, and accountability for performance metrics.

➢ Coordinate the issuance of tool repairs and maintenance work orders.

➢ Prepare and validate production reports, ensuring production goals are met and addressing any issues that arise.

➢ Achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), including downtime, scrap rates, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

➢ Recommend capital improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, safety, or reduce operational costs.

➢ Develop, implement, and maintain methodologies, operational sequences, and processes related to molding parts, subcomponents, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.

➢ Implement automation solutions to minimize waste, labor, and scrap.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of experience in plastic injection molding, with proficiency in a variety of injection molding machinery and equipment. RJG or equivalent training is preferred.
  • Experience programming robots and other automation equipment.
  • Ability to implement automation solutions that enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Strong familiarity with ERP systems, preferably IQMS.
