Job Summary

Cornell University Hospital for Animals is seeking a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our veterinary care team, you will provide exceptional patient care, support our clinicians, and contribute to the advancement of veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including restraint, anesthesia, and monitoring
  • Assist clinicians with medical procedures, surgeries, and diagnostic tests
  • Guide student clinicians in technical skills and procedures
  • Organize and assist with all technical aspects of patient care and procedures
  • Run your own technician appointments and manage workflow
  • Collaborate with other services and clinicians to offer HQHVSN services
  • Travel with the Cornell team to local shelters for the Shelter Outreach Service (SOS) program
  • Teach students anesthesia, patient restraint, patient prep, and patient monitoring
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Veterinary Technology
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • New York State licensure or eligibility to become licensed in NYS
  • Ability to restrain cats and dogs appropriately and handle feral/fractious cats
  • Valid driver's license and proficiency with record-keeping software
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, deductive reasoning, and pattern recognition skills
