Clinical Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clinical Secretary to join our team at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing referrals, scheduling appointments, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Manage referrals from start to finish, ensuring timely and accurate processing
- Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures for patients, and respond to patient calls and inquiries
- Provide general information and education to patients, and assist with completing forms and using technology
- Assess patient needs and process requests for prescriptions, forms, and appointments
- Review schedules daily for accuracy and make adjustments as needed
- Manage wait lists, e-DH worklists, and reschedule patients to ensure schedules are fully booked
- Complete follow-up tasks for patients as directed by the After Visit Summary
- Receive and process incoming phone calls, and transfer calls as needed
- Monitor and complete system messages in a timely manner
- Complete authorizations and pre-certifications for external and stat procedures
- Review provider schedules at the end of the day to identify and contact patients who require follow-up
- Support providers and staff in addressing patient questions and concerns
- Monitor the waiting room for patients in distress and seek assistance when needed
- Manage multiple in-baskets and complete tasks as assigned by providers or clinical staff
- Act as liaison between primary care physicians and specialists outside of DH
- Monitor referral work queues and process new referrals according to established procedures
- Implement and monitor DH policies and procedures
- High school graduate or equivalent with 1 year experience in a provider office
- Knowledge of insurance benefit programs and medical terminology
- Ability to effectively interact with providers, staff, patients, and insurance plan representatives
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
