Key Responsibilities:
  • Process purchasing award summaries and related documentation.
  • Assist in formulating Commodity Team strategies that align with Global Purchasing and Logistics Objectives.
  • Develop sourcing lists and monitor supplier performance metrics.
  • Proactively resolve pricing, invoicing, and contract-related issues with suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and annual contracts with suppliers.
  • Analyze supplier cost and pricing information while benchmarking against competitors.
  • Maintain effective communication between internal departments, management, and suppliers.
  • Support initiatives aimed at cost savings.
  • Implement standardized processes utilizing digitalization and structured measurements.
  • Forecast annual material purchasing volumes, savings, tooling costs, and repair budgets.
  • Conduct special projects as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Adhere to professional ethics regarding confidential information.
  • Promote a culture of compliance within the area of responsibility.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based, with a traditional work schedule (Monday through Friday). Employees may occasionally perform tasks in environments with odors and dust, as well as in hazardous areas. Physical demands include sitting, manipulating small items, standing, walking, and reaching.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Materials Management, or Business Finance, with 3 years of relevant experience; or 7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Experience managing confidential matters with discretion.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient understanding of purchasing practices and procedures.
  • Excellent financial analysis and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
  • Self-starter with the capability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Knowledge of production planning and supply chain processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Preferred:

  • Specific knowledge of Off-Highway Diesel Engine commodities.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Engineering or technical degree.
  • German language proficiency.
