The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing short and long-range administrative and organizational plans, as well as overseeing various department heads and assisting the governing board in negotiation of professional service contracts.
Key Responsibilities- Develops and implements administrative and organizational plans to define responsibilities and business activities consistent with hospital goals and objectives.
- Oversees various department heads and ensures effective management of hospital operations.
- Assists the governing board in negotiation of professional service contracts and ensures compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Approves performance appraisals and wage modifications, reviews and resolves employee grievances, and makes suggestions as appropriate.
- Maintains administrative responsibility for physicians both inside and outside the hospital, subject to the ultimate responsibility and control of the governing board.
- Acts as a liaison among the hospital's governing board, advisory boards, medical staff, and hospital departments, and participates in various meetings to provide pertinent information related to hospital operations and fiscal affairs.
- Keeps apprised of public policy, economic developments, and public opinions as they may pertain to the hospital's organizational goals, and participates in hospital associations and healthcare professional organizations.
- Directs the conduct of the CFO's office and related financial operations to ensure implementation of the hospital's fiscal business plan, and reviews and approves all financial reports, budgets, and major expenditures, subject to the ultimate authority and control of the hospital's governing board.
- Oversees the efforts of hospital personnel to maintain accreditation standards of the Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid, and similar organizations.
- Coordinates the efforts of the hospital's governing board, advisory boards, medical staff, and hospital personnel to maintain hospital quality standards through its loss control programs as may be established at the hospital.
- Responsible for reporting Key Events to the Compliance Hotline.
- Participates in monthly operating review meetings and engages with Ovation Healthcare for consultative services in alignment with the services contract.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- BS/BA preferred in a related field or relevant experience is required.
- Masters preferred.
- In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of hospital administration.
- Knowledge of the healthcare field as well as refined managerial skills.
- Effective written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
- Show initiative, creativity, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcare.
