Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Director to lead our Information Technology Department at Cibola General Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the department, establishing policies and procedures, and directing and supervising staff.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Facilitate the development, implementation, and oversight of Health Information Security efforts to ensure compliance with HIPAA Security Regulations.
  2. Select, train, and assign department staff, develop standards of performance, and evaluate annual performance.
  3. Develop department goals and objectives, establish and implement policies and procedures, and develop and recommend the department operating budget.
  4. Perform contract negotiations with vendors, direct the preparation and maintenance of department reports, and prepare periodic reports for Administration.
  5. Plan, organize, and direct IT Department activities, determine and document space, equipment, supply, and service requirements, and evaluate equipment capabilities.
  6. Establish priorities for system modifications and requests, insure prompt and courteous feedback to requestors of computer services and telephone services, and maintain department facilities and equipment.
  7. Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations, and participate in hospital committee meetings as required.
  8. Cooperate with other departments and staff to fulfill the aim and purpose of the organization and its goals, and understand and act in accordance with CGH's Compliance Policy/Code of Conduct.
  9. Develop, implement, test, and review the organization's information security to protect information and prevent unauthorized access, and inform appropriate users about security measures.
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Minimum Experience: Project management and five (5) years of IT management experience in a healthcare setting
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Extensive knowledge of computer hardware, computer systems, data communications, and major software packages, HMS Clinical Systems experience preferred, and two years working experience with Active Directory

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, or view a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time
  • Involves sitting approximately 70 percent of the day, walking, or standing the remainder and during training programs
