Job Title: IT Director

Cibola General Hospital is seeking an experienced IT Director to lead our Information Technology Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, establishing policies and procedures, and directing staff to ensure the effective use of technology in our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the IT Department, including staff, hardware, software, and systems implementation.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for IT operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Security Officer to develop and implement Health Information Security efforts.
  • Select, train, and assign department staff, developing standards of performance and evaluating annual performance.
  • Develop and recommend the IT Department budget, ensuring operation within budget.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and direct the preparation and maintenance of department reports.
  • Plan, organize, and direct IT Department activities, determining and documenting space, equipment, supply, and service requirements.
  • Evaluate equipment capabilities and recommend acquisitions for the IT Department and personal computer usage.
  • Establish priorities for system modifications and requests, ensuring prompt and courteous feedback to requestors.
  • Maintain department facilities and equipment, promoting efficiency and safety of staff.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
  • Participate in hospital committee meetings as required and cooperate with other departments and staff to fulfill the aim and purpose of the organization.
  • Understand and act in accordance with CGH's Compliance Policy/Code of Conduct, reporting any questionable or unethical conduct to the Compliance Coordinator.
  • Develop, implement, test, and review the organization's information security to protect information and prevent unauthorized access.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Project management and five (5) years of IT management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer hardware, computer systems, data communications, and major software packages.
  • Two years working experience with Active Directory.
Reports to:

Chief Financial Officer

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, or view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time.
  • Involves sitting approximately 70 percent of the day, walking, or standing the remainder and during training programs.
