Job Summary

Cibola General Hospital seeks a highly skilled and experienced Chief Executive Officer to provide administrative oversight to all business, administrative, and executive functions of the hospital. The CEO will work closely with the hospital's governing board to develop and implement short and long-range administrative and organizational plans, ensuring alignment with hospital goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement administrative plans, including annual financial plans, in collaboration with hospital personnel and governing board members.
  2. Oversee department heads and ensure effective management of hospital operations.
  3. Assist the governing board and hospital's legal counsel in contract negotiations and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  4. Approve performance appraisals, wage modifications, and employee grievances, while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  5. Maintain administrative responsibility for physicians and ensure effective communication with the medical staff and hospital departments.
  6. Act as a liaison between the hospital's governing board, advisory boards, medical staff, and hospital departments, facilitating resolution of questions and problems.
  7. Stay informed about public policy, economic developments, and public opinions affecting the hospital's organizational goals, and participate in hospital associations and healthcare professional organizations.
  8. Direct the conduct of the CFO's office and related financial operations, ensuring implementation of the hospital's fiscal business plan.
  9. Oversee efforts to maintain accreditation standards with the Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid, and similar organizations.
  10. Coordinate efforts to maintain hospital quality standards through loss control programs and report Key Events to the Compliance Hotline.
  11. Participate in monthly operating review meetings and engage with Ovation Healthcare for consultative services.
Requirements
  1. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  2. BS/BA preferred in a related field or relevant experience required.
  3. Masters preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. In-depth knowledge of hospital administration and the healthcare field.
  2. Refined managerial skills and effective written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  3. Ability to show initiative, creativity, and problem-solving ability, and collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcare.
Travel Requirements
  1. Minimal travel required.
  2. Must be willing to relocate and live within Cibola County, NM.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Conditions typically associated with an office environment. While performing the essential duties and responsibilities, the employee is required to talk and hear. May be frequently required to sit, stand, or walk. Moderate to prolonged reading, typing, and computer work. Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity that may include lifting up to 50 pounds. Subject to exposure to all environmental hazards associated with healthcare and office work.
