Patient Support Specialist

The Patient Support Specialist will play a crucial role in assisting patients and healthcare providers in the initiation of therapy treatments. This position involves navigating various processes including onboarding, insurance verification, and providing ongoing support as needed by patients and their healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the relevant brand and customer workflows for the assigned program.
2. Utilize established protocols to respond to inquiries via phone, chat, fax, SMS, mail, and email in a timely and professional manner.
3. Engage with customers and relevant associates during inbound and outbound communications, ensuring compliance and professionalism.
4. Manage assigned cases throughout the patient journey, ensuring proper escalation, tracking, and follow-up as necessary.
5. Adhere to established guidelines and performance metrics for case processing and documentation.
6. Document all interactions accurately to inform cross-functional partners of relevant status updates.
7. Identify and report any adverse events following established protocols.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma is required.
- Approximately 6 months of experience in a contact center environment, preferably in healthcare or pharmaceuticals.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and compassionately.
- Proficiency in computer systems, including email and data entry applications.
Work Environment:
This role may require occasional onsite presence, and candidates should have a dedicated workspace with reliable internet access when working remotely. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to accommodate the needs of the business.
