Job Summary

Ortho Sport and Spine Physicians is seeking a highly organized and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our medical office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients and visitors, answering or referring inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by checking in patients promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating demographic and financial information.
  • Schedule patient appointments at the end of the visit and follow up with patients to confirm appointments.
  • Maintain open communication with the pre-cert team regarding orders for daily patients and track and follow up with patient cancellations and no-shows.
  • Perform daily audits of tasks assigned and ensure accuracy and completeness of patient information.
  • Check patients in by EMR and verify demographics and insurance information.
  • Follow up on outpatient referrals and surgical referrals, and provide patients with printouts of appointments.
Requirements
  • HIPAA and OSHA compliance, promoting a safe work environment at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, medical staff, insurance companies, and others.
  • Caring demeanor toward patients and coworkers, with a strong focus on providing exceptional patient care.
  • Clinical knowledge and familiarity with medical terminology, as well as working knowledge of computers, fax, copiers, and other technology.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of electronic medical records software, with prior medical receptionist experience in an orthopedic setting a plus.
  • Strong administrative skills, with attention to detail and accuracy, and bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus.
Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required, with an Associate or higher degree preferred.
  • 1 year of medical front desk experience, with a customer service background.
