Position Overview

The Molding Manager is tasked with overseeing and coordinating the operations of the Molding department, ensuring that production and operational staff are effectively managed. This role is crucial for maintaining the production schedule and ensuring that orders are completed efficiently and within budgetary constraints. The Molding Manager will evaluate completed tooling and processes to guarantee that a comprehensive and repeatable molding package is established. Additionally, the Manager will support Molding Technicians and production staff in troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise. Other relevant responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee, coordinate, and schedule the activities of the molding production team, including machine operation, fabrication, assembly, finishing, and inspection of parts and products.
  • Develop strategies to achieve production and work schedules by coordinating activities with other departments.
  • Address work-related challenges and propose measures to enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Order necessary materials and supplies for production.
  • Train Injection Molding personnel on job responsibilities, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of Injection Molding employees.
  • Prepare various reports related to production metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that are pertinent to the role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Technical Science, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5-7 years of managerial experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in Injection Molding and Plastics Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and their enforcement.
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, teamwork, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications and technology.
  • Ability to effectively utilize tools, instruments, and information systems.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Capable of working both on the production floor and in an office environment.
  • Customer-focused approach.
