Position Overview

The Molding Manager is tasked with overseeing and coordinating the operations of the Molding department, ensuring that production and operational staff perform efficiently. This role is crucial in maintaining the production schedule and ensuring that orders are completed within the allocated budget. The Molding Manager will also evaluate completed tooling and processes to guarantee that a comprehensive and repeatable molding package is provided. Additionally, the Manager will support Molding Technicians and production staff in identifying and resolving issues. Other relevant responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct, coordinate, and schedule the activities of mold production personnel who operate machinery, fabricate, assemble, finish, or inspect components and products.
  • Develop strategies to achieve production and work schedules by coordinating activities with other departments.
  • Address work-related challenges and propose solutions to enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Order necessary materials and supplies.
  • Train Injection Mold staff on job responsibilities, safety protocols, and company policies, ensuring compliance.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and manage the performance of Injection Mold employees.
  • Compile various production reports.
  • Promote, oversee, and ensure adherence to Health & Safety protocols at all times.
  • Other relevant duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Technical Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of managerial experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in Injection Molding or Plastics Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, teamwork, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Effective utilization of technology, tools, and information systems.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and provide guidance.
  • Experience working on the production floor as well as in an office environment.
  • Customer-focused approach.
